3 Things to Consider for Your Contact Page

The Contact page on a website is often overlooked from a content standpoint, as it’s usually the last page created before you turn your site live. For many businesses, it’s actually one of the most important pages, as it yields in that call-to-action we all hope to receive (hello potential new client inquiry).

I’m all about keeping things simple, purposeful and streamlined, which is why I’m highlighting three things to consider for your contact page to make it just a tad more impactful and helpful to your potential clients.

Three Things to Consider for Your Squarespace Contact Page

ONE.

A Thoughtful Inquiry Form

Think of your inquiry form as a way to gather information from potential clients, understand their pain points and why they want to work with your business. It’s important here to strike a balance of gathering enough information to vet out the potential client, without scaring them off with a super long, in-depth inquiry form. Brainstorm a few questions you feel would be beneficial to have up front and don’t forget to ask about how they found/heard about you!

Pro Tip:  If you’re using Squarespace for your contact form, you can also customize your post-submit message.

TWO.

Highlight Important Business Details

Client education and setting up projects for success start at the first impression. I always recommend sharing your studio/office/shop hours, when they should expect to hear from you and any other details that might be beneficial to potential leads. Do you feel like you are constantly fielding the same questions over and over again? Highlighting a FAQ section on your Contact page, or linking to an FAQ page, is also a great way to add in client education from the very beginning.

Pro Tip: If you have a brick and mortar shop, be sure to provide your address, shop hours and link to get directions.

THREE.

Make it Interactive

How else can potential clients learn more about you, your services and business? Have a blog? Share a few recent blog posts. Are you active on social media accounts? Make it easy for them to follow you. Have a podcast? Don’t forget to mention it on your contact page. All of these avenues will help create that like-know-trust, earning you more credibility.

Pro Tip: If you’re using Squarespace, you can add in a live Instagram feed direction to your website.

As you can see, having a streamlined Contact page isn’t groundbreaking, but can really help set your business up for success. If you’re looking for extra support crafting a website that you’re proud of, reach out today to learn how we can work together.
